Ampicillin Sodium, the sodium salt of Ampicillin, is a broad-spectrum semi-synthetic antibiotic, that belongs to Penicillin family. It inhibits bacterial cell wall biosynthesis in growing bacteria through binding to Penicillin binding proteins, and suppression of peptidoglycan (a critical component of the bacterial cell wall) synthesis.
