Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) - Molecular Biology Grade

Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) is a very polar organosulfur compound and polar aprotic solvent routinely used in organic chemistry for solubilizing organic and inorganic compounds. It is also used in Molecular Biology to inhibit the self-complementation of DNA or PCR primers and increase amplification in PCR reactions. Using DMSO in cell media as cryo-protectant, prevents the ice crystals formation and cell damage.
