Orange Gel Loading Dye (6X)

Orange Gel Loading Dye (6X) is a pre-mixed loading buffer designed for visual tracking of DNA migration during electrophoresis agarose or polyacrylamide gels. It consists of two tracking dyes (Orange G and Xylene Cyanol FF) to track DNA sample migration through the gel. Orange G moves very fast in gel electrophoresis and migrates at approximately 50 bp on a standard 1% TBE agarose gel. The migration of Xylene cyanol FF is however slower compared to Orange G and it migrates at approximately 4000-5000 bp on a standard 1% TBE agarose gel. The included EDTA in the buffer protects the DNA sample from metal-dependent nuclease degradation, and the glycerol keeps the DNA at the bottom of the wells and prevents diffusion of the samples out of wells.
